Teen Screen Printing: A Memento with Artist Hadiza Bello

Ready to make something awesome with your own hands? Screenprint a Memento (DIY Edition) with artist Hadiza Bellois a fun, creative workshop where you’ll learn how to turn your ideas into real printed fabric—no fancy art studio needed!

In this workshop, you’ll use silky sheer fabric (called organza) stretched inside embroidery hoops to make your very own DIY screen. You’ll design a one layer stencil using words, shapes, symbols, or patterns—anything from your name to lightning bolts to secret messages. Then comes the best part: pulling ink across the screen and watching your design magically appear on fabric!

We’ll walk you through everything step by step, so no experience is needed. The ink is safe, non toxic, and easy to clean up, which means you can focus on experimenting, mixing colours, and having fun. Don’t worry about being perfect — printing is all about trying things out and seeing what happens.

By the end, you’ll go home with a custom printed fabric memento and your own reusable screen so you can keep printing again and again. Come hang out, get creative, and make something totally you!

Cost: $20 plus HST. Register online or by calling 709-757-8090. For students in grades 7 to 12.
